I want to ask you to marry me in the supermarket when you remember my favourite magazine,
In the shower when I remember how you kissed me awake that morning,
As you dance around the bedroom naked whilst you get dressed,
Or in the car when you sing as loud as possible with the windows open and make me cringe.
I have proposed to you in the nightclub we first went to, after too many tequilas and my favourite song in the background,
And in bed when we fell asleep wrapped around each other like those trees that live off each other in the jungle,
And again when I met your parents and found out where you got your confidence and cheeky grin from.
Neither of us mean it, really,
But we know that one day it will be for real,
And until that day we can curl up together
Knowing that we are for each other only,
And no other.
